Blue Eyes

Kaylee is fast approaching a month old, can anyone believe it? Our little blue eyed favorite girl and her mommy went to their respective doctor's recently and were both given a good report. Kaylee now weighs 10lbs 3oz. Kaylee is sleeping in about 4 hour stretches, which is pleasing to her mommy. Derek's paternity leave is up and he is back to work, but working normal hours so that Jennifer isn't alone 12 hours at a time. That's life for those in North Dakota!

Cozy Kaylee

She might not be a world traveler yet, but her clothes are! She's wearing the outfit that Grandma Sharlyn gave her from Germany!

Welcome Home!

Welcome home, Kaylee! Kaylee is doing wonderfully and was able to come home today - and moments ago she celebrated her one week birthday. Yes Kaylee Lynn has been in our world for seven days. The doctor's have given her a clean bill of health and released her today into her mommy and daddy's care. She currently weighs 9lbs 14oz. Mommy is recovering nicely, but still isn't up to sitting for long periods in front of a computer, so Auntie continues to update the blog. Jen is able to do more things and is feel better with each day that passes. I'm told there will be new family photos tomorrow, and for today here are a few pictures of little Kaylee sleeping in her own bed.

Grandma Came to Visit

4 days old

Jen came home on Saturday and Kaylee on Saturday was still receiving phototherapy for her mild case of jaundice that she had. Kaylee has been off all IVs since Thursday or Friday (Auntie isn't entirely sure) and is super cute. Jennifer's mom arrived on Saturday and from the looks of this picture is loving cuddling every one's favorite girl!

Beautiful Girl

Mother and Daughter

(Auntie Jo here, in the future you'll be able to see who is posting by looking at the bottom of the post to see who the author is. )

I just received this picture from my brother and couldn't wait till later to post it. It's just so sweet. Update on the family: Jen is doing much better today. Her blood pressure is under control now and her blood sugar seems to be back to normal. The doctors had her up and moving today and so she was able to be mobile and go to the NICU to spend some time with Kaylee, who is still on an IV for her blood sugar. Everyone is doing wonderfully. I'm sure there will be another post later IF I can squeeze a few more pictures out of Derek. ;-) Stay tuned!

Day One

Auntie Jo here again! Mommy and Daddy are still busy recovering and filling out paperwork. Ok I don't know if Derek actually is still filling out paperwork, but he is certainly busy taking care of his girls. Jen will be in the hospital through the end of the week. They are still trying regulate her blood pressure as it is not being very cooperative and of course the time to recoop after the C-Section. Kaylee still has the IV for her blood sugar, but she is doing well enough to leave the NICU and visit with her Mommy and Daddy.

I'm told her hair is redish-brown and that she has blue eyes.

Welcome Kaylee Lynn!

Welcome to Kaylee Lynn's space in the blogosphere, Auntie Jo is posting on behalf of the proud parents while mommy recovers and daddy fills out all sorts of paperwork. The following are the earliest pictures of every one's favorite little girl.

10lbs 14oz and 21.75" long

In these pictures you'll see Kaylee on some oxygen, she was taken off of that on 9/9/09 at 6:00am CST, it was to help clear out her lungs of the meconium that she inhaled during the delivery. She was also given an IV for her blood sugar, as it was low upon birth. She still is receiving that at this time, but it is regulating!

She's here!
